Privacy Policy

1. The short version

You can use this calculator completely anonymously. We ask for nothing, and nothing you type is sent to us. If you choose to create an account so your calculations are saved and synced across your devices, we store your contact details and your saved calculations. We only send you marketing if you explicitly opt in, and you can withdraw that at any time.

2. Using the calculator without an account

If you do not sign in, your calculations are stored only in your own browser (in localStorage) and are never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser data deletes them permanently. We cannot see them and cannot recover them.

When you select a non-GBP supplier currency, your browser requests today's exchange rate directly from a third-party rate service. That request comes from your device, so that service will see your IP address. No calculation data is included in the request.

3. What we collect when you create an account

If you sign in with Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft or Yahoo, we receive your name and email address from that provider. We do not receive your password, and we never have access to your account with them.

4. Why we hold it, and on what legal basis

If you did not opt in to marketing, we will not send you promotional messages. We may still contact you about your own account, such as a security issue or a material change to this service.

5. Who else can see it

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It is processed on our behalf by:

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.

6. How long we keep it

Your account and saved calculations are kept until you ask us to delete them. Marketing consent records are kept for as long as we rely on that consent, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can evidence it if challenged.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access a copy of your data, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and withdrawing it does not affect your account.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in section 9. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Cookies and similar storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. If you sign in, we store your session in your browser so you stay signed in — this is strictly necessary for the service to work and cannot be switched off separately. Anonymous calculations are stored in your browser as described in section 2.

9. Who we are and how to contact us

The data controller for calculatorpro.co is LaunchCatering Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16262705, whose registered office is at 171 South Esk Road, London, England, E7 8HE. CalculatorPro is a trading name of LaunchCatering Ltd.

For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights in section 6, email calculatorpro.co@gmail.com. We respond within one month, as UK GDPR requires.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data or your request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or by calling 0303 123 1113. You can complain to the ICO without contacting us first, though we would rather have the chance to put it right.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we use your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Where the change is significant and we hold your contact details, we will tell you directly.
